Finding Your Place In The World with The Adventures Of Rockford T. Honeypot !

What's a person to do when you have a bunch of time on your hand? You try and find your place in this very big world, of course! We were sent a fun new book to add to our growing library called, The Adventures Of Rockford T. Honeypot by Josh Gettsegen. It's a great book designed for kids with a 3rd-grade reading level and up...
Here's a quick synopsis of the book:

As a young chipmunk, shy, bookish Rockford T. Honeypot had dreams of thrilling adventures across the forest. However, timid of danger and germs, his only adventures were found in books and his imagination. When his family abandons him after a mistake that destroys their hazelnut business, Rockford sets off on a legendary journey beyond his wildest dreams. From exploring cuisines with a famous chef, training with ancient warrior monks, flying on giant hawks, finding true love, and much more, Rockford recounts his epic origin story of hardship, perseverance, and fortune.

My daughter and I enjoyed reading the book together and discovering the fun tale of RTH. Though it is a fictional story, its easy to compare to real life. My daughter is now headed into the 2nd grade in the fall, but she surpasses her grade's reading level so this was the perfect addition to her reading log.

From the start of the book, my daughter was captivated by the characters and the story that was unfolding. We read together and of course, we stopped in between to chat about what was happening in the story and to define any new words which my daughter didn't understand. In the title of this post, I mentioned that this book can help you find your place in the world and here's why...

Rockford doesn't stop venturing out and trying a bunch of new things. I made it my business to point that out to my kid so that she can see that it doesn't matter how many things you try, If you fail, you try something else and you will at some point find what you are best at!

This book is really fun and I highly recommend it. You can find it on Amazon HERE.

Want a few coloring pages to get the kids excited about the book, well here it is!
