SPOTLIGHT: 3 Films to Catch for a Summer Of Disney! #DisneySMC

The kids are almost out of school and aside from all the camps, trips, adventures, and vacation, It helps to have some downtime. What better way to do that than to catch a movie in a nice quiet movie theatre? Did you know these 3 Disney films were coming soon to liven up our summers?

As a Disney loving family, we never miss an opportunity to catch a Disney film. Arriving on June 21st, 2019 is the 4th Installment of the beloved Toy Story!

I remember when the 1st part came out and we owned it on VHS. I re-winded and rewatched it to my heart's content. We know that Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy (who's all grown up) or Bonnie (his new owner). So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky, declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (who we haven't seen since Toy Story 2). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road really put some wear and tear her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries. I can't wait to see which new adventure unfolds and if you follow us on Instagram, you'll see the DIY projects I'll be creating for m daughter to wear to the movie!

On July 19th, 2019, All 90s babies will walk in unison to the sound of "Circle Of Life" to relive one of the greatest films ever. This time the Lion King will make its way into cinemas in Live-Action form for all generations to enjoy (but mostly us 90s kids).

Disney’s “The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy, and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. This is a battle I'm ready to relive and look forward to checking it out.

The 3rd movie on my Summer watchlist is the seriously entertaining, Artemis Fowl, which hits theatres August 9th, 2019. I've noticed that this Film has been pushed back to May 29th, 2020. I'll still leave the synopsis below so that you know what it's all about!

I'm not familiar with the original story, but Disney’s “Artemis Fowl” is based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer. It is a fantastical, spellbinding adventure that follows the journey of 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he seeks to find his father who has mysteriously disappeared. With the help of his loyal protector Butler, Artemis sets out to find him, and in doing so uncovers an ancient, underground civilization...the amazingly advanced world of fairies. Deducing that his father’s disappearance is somehow connected to the secretive, reclusive fairy world, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan... so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies. I think fairies are such delicate, beautiful creatures so this new take on the fairies will be interesting to see on the big screen.

There you have it. The 3 2 Summer Disney movies that will be hitting the big screen while kids are off of school for the summer. set it in your calendar and save the date! Make it a Playdate if you must, but just go and see that movie...

Which film are you most excited about?
