Preschool Reading: HUGO The Happy Starfish!

I love to read books. Reading is a chance for me to escape reality and go on a cool adventure through the point of view of the characters. I always try to instill that same love of reading into my daughter and I think we're getting there! Not only is reading an important part of life, but it opens up a whole new world in their imagination and encourages them to truly become anyone they want to be. Our favorite books are animal and adventure books so when we were given the opportunity to review an adorable children's book called Hugo The Happy Starfish: One Step At a Time, I knew this would soon become our favorite.

About the book:

It starts off with Hugo, a little starfish with a big sense of adventure. One day he finds an empty candy wrapper with a picture of  what he believes is a huge chocolate mountain. He then discovers that his chocolate mountain is in fact a real mountain called the Matterhorn which is located in Switzerland. He decides to set off on a journey to find this mountain – a huge challenge for a little starfish! After traveling to different places and learning new things along the way, he finally gets to climb the Matterhorn, find the secret of perseverance and learns to take things one step at a time.

This book is truly a great tale to teach commitment. The series is suitable as a read aloud book for preschoolers or a self-read book for older children and teaches them to never give up and, if needed, breakup difficults tasks into smaller ones that can be accomplished. Teaching children life skills that they'll need can be quite tricky, but with Hugo the Happy Starfish children’s book series our children will come across some of the most important lessons there are to be learned. The book consists of 29 gorgeous illustrations showing a colorful and magical underwater / surface world. The paperback version of the book actually includes 10 coloring and workbook pages in order to intensify the learning process for your child.

Overall, You must check out this book. You can find this and other Hugo the Starfish books at
